IMPORTANT TERMS OF SERVICE

1.  All media and files must be provided in full before work begins - any late files or additions after the start date of the project will affect the turn around time of the project.

2.  Special effects & green screen  will require additional fees charged by the hour. The hourly rate is $200 per hour.

3.  It can take hours or even days to transfer 4K hi-res media from a small, slow-spinning hard drive, and they are too slow to work from for mastering a film project.  For this reason, a high speed SSD drive is a must.  If media is submitted on a slow drive, there will be a $300 transfer fee to move it to a faster media drive before work can begin on the project.

4.  Media will be posted for review on Frame.io which is a popular secure media site used by major studios to review media. This process is easy and fast, and leaves little room for error in organizing a detail change list and log of needed changes. Here is a link to instructions on how to use the site to make your review notes:  https://youtu.be/Z3yG2WADp0A

5.   There are only two revisions included in the packages - so review all work very carefully.  Anything you do not catch or find during your 2 reviews will require additional charges for those revisions after your first 2 revisions. Revisions are not unlimited in a flat rate package.  Media review periods are

14-days long unless otherwise stated. You have a  first revision from the rough cut, then a second finishing revision to finalize the services in a flat rate package.

6.   Additional changes or adjustments after the two included revisions are billed at the rate of $200 per hour above the standard flat rate service fee charged. (Charged in 1 hour increments - no fractions of an hour.)

7.   No files are downloadable until job is paid in full (unless watermarked), and original media drives will not be returned until after final payment is made.

8.  It is required that you have at least 2 exact matching duplicate drives of all media files supplied to us in the event of

a technical issue.  We are not responsible for technical issues with drives or files, and it will be up to you to supply a backup drive if any major issues are encountered.

9.   We have a standard 2-week grace period in case of technical issues automatically added to the turn around time of your project if needed. A technical issue can be anything that gets in the way of our projected finish date.

10.  Understand that creativity is collaborative, and you will have a very experienced artist working on your project - not just a button pusher.  Yes, you do have final say over decisions regarding your project, but sometimes in the interest of doing our best work as creatives, we will take a strong position for changes you may not agree with or understand initially. It is good to trust our opinions and consider our suggestions carefully so you can get the most for your money - which is, our experience.  Please don’t look at our creative disagreements as being adversarial or trying to control your project. It is just our thousands of editing hours and wanting the best for you and your final edit that compels us to advise and push our opinions.  Yes, emotions do happen, but our goal is the same, making your project look good.  We are not just tech editors, we are filmmakers also, so we understand the process and your passion. We have sound editorial judgment and deep understanding of story and  flow. You can trust us with your vision. But please understand, we are contributors and we become a part of your creative team. It becomes our work too.

We have fully color calibrated video monitors and hi-end audio monitors

for accurate assessments of the final media output that will meet all

industry standards and quality control specs from distributors.

A pro editor has to be an assistant editor for 10 years before they can become a Senior Editor in Hollywood.
